Established in 1920, University of Lucknow carries more than a century-old legacy of educational distinction across streams. From excellence in languages to being the first university to establish many departments such as Political Science and Social Work, the University of Lucknow has an enviable scientific legacy too. This legacy has withstood the test of time and continues to be a beacon of academic excellence. For more than a hundred years, this university has been a cradle of knowledge, nurturing generations and fostering an environment of intellectual growth. Housed in a beautiful campus with buildings built in the 1800s in the IndoSaracenic style, this once beautiful garden of the Nawabs, houses a vibrant campus of almost 20000 students. We count amongst our alumni, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, Kavi Pradeep, Vinod Mehta, Quratulain Haider, Dr. Navin Khanna, and many others.

In recent years, continuing the legacy of the past, University of Lucknow has continued to distinguish itself on the national and international arena. University of Lucknow have obtained the unique distinction of being the first to launch NEP, 2020 at the undergraduate level in the entire country with entry and exit options. We have obtained an A++ grade from NAAC and have ranked in QS Asia, Times Higher Education and many other international and national rankings. We have been recognized as a Category-1 university by UGC. The University of Lucknow have secured 32nd among State Public Universities and 97th All India Universities in NIRF ranking!
